The Columbia Memorial Hospital Foundation is extremely pleased to announce the formation of The Mangold Society. This society has been formed to recognize our donors who support Columbia Memorial Hospital with planned gifts or major gifts—-those gifts that ensure the future of excellence in health care in our community. The Mangold Society is named in honor of the late Rob Mangold, who was an early member of the Foundation, a guiding light who provided visionary leadership in its development. Rob served as Board chair for several terms and was then Director Emeritus until his passing in November 2005.

It is especially fitting that we name this society in Rob’s memory, as he and his wife Ann were the first donors to establish a planned gift with the Foundation in the form of a charitable gift annuity. Ann has been instrumental in helping us form The Mangold Society and is its Charter Member. She says that the extra income she receives from the charitable gift annuity has been nice to have since Rob’s passing. “When I was going over Rob’s estate with the children, they were very pleased and surprised to find that the income from the annuity was there,” she said. “I’m glad we did it too. Otherwise we would have just spent it, and then I wouldn’t have the income now.”
